Zojirushi Series

My next set of posts will be on the Zojirushi series consumer electronic goods products, particularly for the kitchen. Zojirushi is the undisputed king of consumer goods here in Japan. Its penetration is growing throughout the world and is evidenced by its products being used everywhere I travel, whether throughout Asia or across the U.S.

A little background about Zojirushi:
is a Japanese manufacturer of consumer electronic goods including rice cookers, bread machines, electric water boilers, refrigerators, flasks and much more. The company was founded in 1918 as the Ichikawa Brothers Trading Company in Osaka and in 1948 was changed to Kyowa Manufacturing Co., Ltd. In 1961, its name was changed again to the Zojirushi Corporation and its corporate logo, including an elephant (Zōjirushi means "elephant mark") was adopted.
You can find their products in every major electronic store in Japan, including Bic Camera, Yodobashi Camera, LABI, etc. It would not be wild to say that almost every household in Japan has at least one Zojirushi product. It's that widespread here.

But there is a reason for this.

Their technology is superior!

No other company can match the quality of their products. I have a rice cooker, electric water boiler, flask, and coffee maker from their various lines. I've used them for more than 10 years each and haven't had to replace them as they work as well as when I first got them. I will get into more details later, but the unmatched research and development of their technology overwhelms that of their competitors by far.

I will start the series in my next post on a good rice cooker which a single person, couple or small family can use.
