SHARP On-board Plasmacluster Black

I've decided to start reviewing all Japanese consumer goods, for lack of a better term, instead of just stationery products. Although I do like Japanese stationery, there is only so much I can write about it, and if you guys haven't already decided to go grab them, then there's not much more I can write to convince you.

So now I am on to Japanese consumer goods. Why Japanese consumer goods? I will answer that in the next post. For the first product, I'd like to introduce the SHARP On-board Plasmacluster. This is essentially an air filter for your car which you can plug into your cigarette lighter socket. I will talk more about the product itself next time, and in this post, I will talk more about the science and mechanism behind Plasmacluster.

What is Plasmacluster?
Discharge from plasma generates and emits the same positive and negative ions that occur in nature. SHARP's Plasmacluster technology disinfects and suppresses the effects of airborne viruses, as it breaks down and removes airborne mold.

Mechanism for removing bacteria using Plasmacluster
1. Ion emission
Plasma discharges are used to create and release the same positive and negative ions occurring naturally.

2. Effect on mold and viruses
Only when the ions come into contact with the surface of a mold spore, do bacteria or viruses transform into OH radicals with extremely powerful oxidation properties. These free radicals steal hydrogen atoms from the proteins on the bacteria surface, and break down the proteins.

3. Ions turn into water and return to the air
Combining OH radical with hydrogen (H) creates water, obviously we know it as H2O. This water the returns into the air in vapor form.

In the next post, I will talk more about the On-board Plasmacluster and why you should definitely get it for your car. Trust me, you will see a complete difference once you start using it and find odors and general filth disappearing from your senses. You will never go back driving without one.
